Year 5 Reading Challenge – Autumn 2

Watch this video and make notes.

We have been learning about G7 and climate change and what impact it has on the world we live in.

BRONZE CHALLENGE: Summarise climate change in your own words.

SILVER CHALLENGE: What is the impact of climate change on the world we live in now? What effect will it have on the Earth if we don’t change now?

GOLD CHALLENGE: Write a short story about Climate change– remember the setting description and how it will change throughout the story. Does your character change the World?

Complete your work in your homework book and send it to this Sharepoint. Remember to comment on this blog to state you have completed it.

    BRONZE___
Climate change has had a serious impact on our world, droughts, forests burning down and seas drying up is the result of pollution, cars and factories for the pat 500 years ever since we started using fossil fuel from the grounds of the Earth. Most fossil fuel are mainly found in cold areas then hot, warm places as they wont stay as their form of shape.Russia is the main one in the doing of climate change and they have severly damaged the Ozone layer.Making earth vulnerable to UV light which could end our civilization soon.
    SILVER___has been connected with BRONZE.

Climate change is having serious impacts on the world’s water systems through more flooding and droughts. Warmer air can hold a higher water content, which makes rainfall patterns more extreme. Rivers and lakes supply drinking water for people and animals and are a vital resource for farming and industry.
What happens if we stop climate change?
To illustrate the risk of insufficient scientific communication, if all greenhouse gas emissions were to be completely stopped starting this year, the public would expect immediate, rapid declines in global warming. However, temperatures are projected to rise at an accelerated pace for at least 13 more years.Effects that scientists had predicted in the past would result from global climate change are now occurring: loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves.

Bronze: climate change causes extreme weather which is harmful to our planet it causes green house gasses and which causes smoke cars should be automatic to save our planet instead and my generation can save our planet
    Silver:
Climate change has a huge effect on our planet because if we don’t do anything now our earth will be completely dry and there will be no water.if we don’t do anything now our earth will rot.

Climate change out of the whole world climate change is the worst change out of all of the changes in the world.Although its here we have a chance to stop the oceans filling the whole world at its bad because we need carbon dioxide/co2 to breath and if we cut down trees we would’nt be able to breath and global warming gets worse because the earth becomes really hot but to stop it we need to stop climate change by affecting our planet.

the green house effect can effect our climate change by if heat enters the world the greenhouse effect will trap the heat no longer the heat escaping form the earth.Without the green house effect the earth will be cold to support life and there will be less habitats in the world for animals. If humans keep cutting trees down birds and other creatures that live or nest in trees will no longer be alive.
    Sliver
The impact on our climate change right now is that if diesel and petrol cars stay on the earth it will cause our climate change a lot more worsen so that’s why we need to get electric cars because they don’t effect our climate.Another impact is littering, littering is a big problem in this world if you litter it goes into the seas if it goes into the seas fish might get trapped and suffocated in it or accidentally eat it and if it keeps on going there will no longer be any sea creatures.(these 2 ideas in my most important)

The science of climate change.Greehouse gase, includeing carbon dixode methon water vapor, trap heat in the earth’s atmosphere and warm the planet .The greenhouse effect is an increase in the average temperature of the earth .Without greenhouse gases, the temperature on earth would be to cold to supporte life. The impact would be that less oxegyn and there would be less amount of trees which there would be less habiats to animals to live in .If we keep cutting down trees it will have an effect on us and animals which means there will be less and there will be less humans.

The Science of Climate Change. Greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, methane and water vapor, trap heat in the Earth’s atmosphere and warm the planet. The greenhouse effect is an increase in the average temperature of the Earth. Without greenhouse gases, the temperature on Earth would be too cold to support life.
The impact would be that less oxygen and there will be less amount of trees which means there will be less habitats to animals to live in.
if we keep cutting down trees it will have an effect on us and animals which means there will be less animals and there will be less humans.
