Year 5 Reading Challenge Autumn 1

Hi, Year 5! Are you ready to take on our first reading challenge of the year?

During Autumn 1, we have been learning about recounts and making them as effective as we can. You will need to carry out some research into the moon landing and then write a recount, choosing a challenge from the list below.

 Write a catchy headline and an introductory paragraph (using the five W’s: Who, What, Where, When, Why)

Platinum:

Write a newspaper report using journalistic language and include at least one quote from the time. (You will need to do some research).

    2 things that helped Neil fly in difficult situations is being and resilient.

    Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Micheal Collins went altogether in a rocket.
    “Tranquility base here. The moon has landed.”, is a phrase that Neil said that means the Eagle didn’t land automatically.
    They were unsure because the temperatures could’ve gone up to 100 degrees.
    I think 600 million people watched it because it was an important event for everyone.
    I think the most dangerous part was when they were landing because the Eagle was running low on fuel.

    5.The word which tells me that the Eagle hadn’t landed automatically that it says in the text is unsafe landing area.
    6.Because since it was the first time on the moon they don’t know how long it can stay for.
    7.Because everyone wanted to see the apollo 11 going and wanted to see if they were going to fail or pass.
    8.When in space because the system ha manfactured so they can crash into anything and then die.
