This half term we are learning about the 1960’s so I have set you a challenge about this time period and you will need to use your place value knowledge to solve it.
Bronze
Investigate British singers in the 1960’s: Paul McCartney, Cilla Black, John Lennon, and Mick Jagger. Find out how old they were when they became famous and order from youngest to oldest.
Silver
The Beatles were a famous band from Liverpool in the 1960’s. What was the population of Liverpool during the 1960’s? What is the population of Liverpool now? Has it increased or decreased? By how much? Explain it.
Gold
Research the record sales for the following singers; Cilla Black, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger, using this knowledge identify who is the most successful singer. You will need to explain why using correct mathematical vocabulary. What is the difference in records sold between the most successful and least successful?
Platinum
Research the record sales for the following singers; Cilla Black, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger, using this knowledge identify who is the most successful singer. How many records have they sold altogether? John Lennon and Paul McCartney were in the famous British band ‘The Beatles’. Using their solo record sales and those of The Beatles how many records have the sold combined altogether?
