Year 3 Homework Week 5

For homework this week you need to complete 2/3 pieces.

Solve the problem above and explain how you calculated your answer.

English

Create a book review for your reading book. You can use the template in your reading journal to help you.

WOW

Create a creative fact file for Italy. It could be a poster, leaflet, mini book it is up to you.

You can email your homework to y3upload@broadheath.coventry.sch.uk or you can bring it in to show your teachers.

You may answer the maths and English in the comments if you wish, however we will be checking for differences in work so we know you have not copied and pasted.

    FACT FILE FOR ITALY
    Italy is a country in Southern Europe. Italy is easy to recognize on world map as the country is shaped like a high heeled boot.
    Italy is popular for many ports and sandy beaches.
    The biggest city of the country is Rome with 2.9 million people.
    Italian love Soccer, Skiing, cycling, surfing and motor racing.
    Italian love their food ,which is usually prepared by mother and grandmother.
    The famous food is pizza and the Italian pizza is very thin and loaded with vegetables .

    Maths: The answer is 192. When we multiply with 2 × 96 = 192 and 8× 24 = 192 . Answer is same .I did it with 2 times table and 8 times table .

    -In 1922 Italy entered a period of economic and social crisis.
    -A quarter of Italians are Chritians, the rest most are Roman-Catholics.
    -Italy is 4th most visited country in the world with more than 50 millions tourists a year.
    -In 2006, Itraly won the World Cup with a score of 5-3 on penalties.

    Italy people like to eat pizza and spaghetti as there culture foods they won the euros by beating England in penalties Italy is a very creative culture

    The story is about
    Riff the cat does not like humans. He calls himself James Bond of the cat world. He lives on his own. He meets a boy called Danny and kitten called samson and the adventure starts.
    I recommend this book to everybody as its a funny and exciting book to read.

    First I done 6 x2 = 12 and put the ten back and then it was 2
    Then 9 x 2 plus the 1 made 19
    That is 192

    This book told me all about football and that it’s a good sport. It tells you about different football teams and the international ones. It’s also told me about Messi’s football journey. I really enjoyed it.

    Wow
    Italy is the second largest olive maker and in Italy people eat pizza.
    In ww2 Italy were in the aixs forces and surrendered in 1943 when the
    Allied forces Attacked south Italy.
    Italy won the World Cup 2006 after Zidane was sent of and hunry mises a penalty Italy won 5-3 on penalties.
    Most people in Italy are Roman catholics a quarter of the Italians are christians.

    I know this because double of 4 is 8 and double of 96 is 192. I used jotting to work out the answer.

    Book review of The Secret Pop Star

    I would give this book 7 stars.
    This story is about a pop star.
    I liked when everyone did the super dance routine at the end of the story.
    I also liked when Dad pranked everyone about being Teddy but he didn’t know the moves and made them up.
    I gave this book 7 stars because I enjoyed reading it and the pictures helped me understand the story.

    It is written and illustrated by Claire Throp.
    My book is a 5 star because it has lots of fun facts about the northern
    lights.
    It’s about the northern lights ,where you can find them and when they come.The most likely come at February,March,October and November.
    I recommend this book to people that are interested in the northern lights.

    I liked the words.
    The words is a bit close top on the line.
    And I did do the capital letters and full stops The capital letters should be in the start and the full stops should be in the end
    .the words are perfect.the words are very looking good in now.my words are medium.
    I loved the words.and that’s why my book is 7 star.

    I used array method, to calculate 8*24 counted the zeros and got confused and stopped at 140, so that answer for 8*24 is 192(my dad helped).

    8 x 24 = 192 and I solved it by using the formal written method and by multiplying 96 x 2.

    English:
    This book is called: Dexter’s Dinosaurs.
    It is written and illustrated by: Michaela Morgan
    I think I would give the book 4 starts.
    What happens in it:
    There was a boy called Dexter and he had a birthday party and he wished for a sort of dinosaur.
    Then he went to a wizard and Dexter told him he want to go back in time to see dinosaurs.
    After that a Tyrannosaurs came in present time.
    Finally Dexter was thinking what he could wish for his next birthday.
    I would recommend this book for 6 year olds because it is about dinosaurs and kids like sorties about dinosaurs.

    My book is 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐because it has lovely pictures and neat writing so people can read easly.
    I think i need to add some more great words and more exciting pictures.
    My books cover is a castle with a lovely princess with all of her helpers around her.
    The books name is the princesses helpers got stolen.
    Inside of the book the princess was eating her food the helpers came and told the princess that other kind helpers are arving the princess was so happy and the helpers were happy to.

    I did both my answers and the answers were both 192.
    I did this by using my HTO method, it was another way to check my answer was correct.

    For the first method I wrote 24 down 8 times, and for the second one I did 96 + 96. I wrote my work in my homework book which I’ll bring in.
