This half term, in our History lessons, we are learning about significant individuals (famous people). One very significant individual in our country is Queen Elizabeth II. Read the text below and complete one or more of the challenges set.

    Wreath mean an arrangement of flower’s leaves or stems fasteneded in a ring and used for decoration or laying on a grave.
    Telegram mean a message sent by telegraph and then delivered in written or printed form used in the UK only for international message since 1981.
    Coronation mean the ceremony of crowning a sovereign or a sovereign’s consort.

    Gold –
    I think the queen does this because people over 100 should be congratulated.

    Significant – means when something is very very important.
    Wreath – means flowers, leaves, and twigs bunches up together.
    Telegram – means a message which is delivered in a written or printed form.
    Coronation – means when a prince or a princess becomes a king or a queen.

    I think the Queen sends telegrams to people who have lived for 100 years to congratulate them for living so long.

    Prince Harry:
    Prince Harry was born on 15th September 1984 at St Marys Hospital at Paddington, London.
    He was the second child of Prince Charles and Princess Diana of Wales.
    His brother was Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
    He was in the military.
    He is 37 years old and he has 2 children – Arthur who is 2 years old and Lilibet Mountbatten Windsor who is 7 months.
