Year 2 Maths challenge Autumn 1:

    Bronze challenge:🛡
    Numbers with 4 tens: 40,41 and 46.
Numbers that it cannot be: 12,14 and 60.

    Silver challenge:🗡
I believe that Jessica has a bigger number as she has 2 tens and 9 ones which makes 29 whereas Faith has 27 ones which would make the number 27. 9 is bigger than 7 in the ones Column therefore Jessica’s number is larger.

    Gold challenge:🏅
I think that Habib is correct in thinking that if you add 10 to any number, the ones would stay the same, as if you add: 7+10=17 and 30+5=35. This clearly shows that the ones Column stays the same so Habib would be correct.

    Platinum challenge:🌌
Isla already has 32 pence therefore if you add 7 tens which is 70 pence, it would equal £1.02 which is more than £1 by 2 pence. This means that Isla is correct in thinking that she has more than £1.

  2. Tala I.

    Bronze:
    The numbers could include 40,44
The numbers could not be 34,58 and 97.
    Silver:
Jessica has bigger because she has Two tens and nine ones .Faith has a small amount of number.27 and 29 the biggest is 29.
    Gold:
    Sometimes because if you add 10 + 2 = 12 that is correct but 10 + 20 = 30.
    Platinum:
    Islah has 32p she got 7 lots of 10 which is 70 . O + 2 = 2 so 2p 30 + 70 = 100 I know this because 7 + 3 = 10 tuning it to a 100 which is a 100 we don’t go 100 we do £1 so the answer is £1.02p 2 p extra.

  6. Elgin A.

    Platinum:
We have 3 lots of 10p and one lot of 2p which equals 32p . Then we have 7 lots of 10p that’s equals 70p. Next we then add them together . 0+2=2. 7+3=10. We get 102 p but we have to convert it to a pound then we get £1.02
