In a school in New York, there are 8 classrooms. Each classroom has 6 rows of desks, and there are 5 desks in each row. How many desks are there in total in the school?
Bonus question: If each desk has 4 books, how many books are there in total on all the desks?
Silver
A farmer in California has 12 apple orchards. Each orchard has 15 trees, and each tree produces 48 apples every year.
How many apples does the farmer’s orchards produce in total each year?
Bonus question: If the farmer packs the apples into boxes, and each box holds 24 apples, how many boxes does the farmer need for all the apples?
Gold
There are 25 basketball teams in a junior league in Texas. Each team has 12 players. If each player gets 3 new basketballs for the season, how many basketballs are needed in total for all the players?
Bonus question: If each basketball costs $20, how much would it cost to buy all the basketballs for the league?
Platinum
A school in Florida is organizing a field trip to the Kennedy Space Center. There are 27 buses, and each bus can hold 48 students. If each student’s ticket costs $35, how much money is needed to buy tickets for all the students on the trip?
Bonus question: If each bus also needs 2 teachers to supervise, how many people (students and teachers) are going on the trip in total?
