This week in 2 White is all about the Paralympics. The Paralympics is a range of sporting events involving many athletes. Take a look at what 2 White have been up to this week. ๐
Monday
Today, 2 White spent the day learning about how the Olympics started.
The children designed and made their own olympic crowns for the ancient olympics. They also participated in some events that took place in the original olympics. We spent time exploring the atlases and located Greece using compass directions. We explored the life of Paralympian, David Smith. In groups, children worked together using knowledge and teamwork to create a poster, presenting facts and information.
In the afternoon, we explored the Olympian artist Slaven Dizdareviฤ. We looked at the celebration of games, new sports, the Olympic values and unity. We explored some artwork, discussing the use of colours and symbolism, recreating a piece by Slaven.
