This week has been Entrepreneur week and 2 White have had a fantastic week, showcasing their learning and using a range of skills. Entrepreneur week has shown 2W the importance of problem-solving and money.
We learnt what it means to be an entrepreneur, finding out the definition. So what is an entrepreneur?
An entrepreneur is someone who sets up a business and takes risks in the hope of making money.
Have a look at what you need to do to become an entrepreneur.
There are many skills that an entrepreneur must have. These include communication, teamwork, listening to others and creativity. These are very similar to our Broad Heath values.
Monday
To kickstart our Entrepreneur week this week, 2 White started by finding out what an entrepreneur is. They did this by finding out the definition.
The children then worked in groups, each researching a different entrepreneur. These entrepreneurs were Levi Roots, Jamie Oliver, Walt Disney, Henry Ford, JK Rowling and The Cadbury Brothers.
We then read a story as a class, to understand the history of chocolate. We identified the main characters of the story and acted out scenes in small groups. This involved using our values of knowledge, imagination and brilliance. π
We then spent the afternoon understanding who The Cadbury Brothers were and why they were successful. We read the text as a class, then used our comprehension skills to answer the questions.
We created a poster, presenting facts about The Cadbury Brothers. Please see the gallery below.
Tuesday
2 White learnt to understand how chocolate is made. As a class, we planned a fair test and made predictions. Please see our video below:

We added Rice Krispies to the melted chocolate to see how it solidifies.
Children in 2W began to think about what they would like to do when they are older. We had a visit from Professional Boxer Mr Cheema. They had the opportunity to hear all about his career and ask him some questions. How exciting! π
Today, the children learnt about problem solving using money and applying their money skills. They did this through answering a range of maths questions and shop role play.

Wednesday
What a great day 2W have had, learning all about chocolate. We spoke about our favourite chocolate bars as a class and used this data, interpreting it in a graph. 2W used their mathematical knowledge.
They also used their baking skills to make Rice Krispie cakes. We had 3 different chocolate types: white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. The children used skills such as mixing and pouring. What delicious cakes they were! They also tasted each one and decided which was their favourite.
Thursday
2 White spent the day learning about advertising and designs of chocolate, including the design of chocolate wrappers. They designed their own chocolate bar and their chocolate bar wrapper. What lovely designs you came up with 2W!
Please see the gallery of 2Wβs chocolate bar and wrapper designs below.
You will make fantastic chocolatiers! π«

To end our Entrepreneur week, 2 White had fun applying their geography skills. This involved map work and using their knowledge to understand the location of where cocoa beans are grown.
We located where cocoa beans are grown on a map and investigated the climate. This involved using our geography and map skills as a class. π πΊοΈ
We also revisited our learning from previously this week about how chocolate was made, consolidating our learning further by understanding the process of chocolate making. We used knowledge and tenacity.
To end the week, we read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a class, which we all enjoyed. What a fantastic week 2 White have had! I am so proud of your efforts and hard work this week. π
