Actively Adding and Subtracting Length in 3 Blue

This week we consolidated our learning on adding and subtracting length using Active Maths. We took part in a long jump activity and used the results to find the total length jumped as well as the difference in our jumps. We also had to measure accurately using metres, centimetres and millimetres.

Can you answer these questions? Remember you will have to convert the measurements to the same unit!

1. 3m and 42cm + 2m and 37cm

2. 4m and 11cm + 5m and 64cm

3. 7m and 57cm – 3m and 22cm

4. 54cm – 110mm

5. 23cm + 269mm

5. 4m and 65cm – 1m and 79cm
