This week, we focused on the impact of African American influences on popular music.
We started the week, by exploring the work of Florence Price, who was an American composer and pianist. Also, she became first African American woman to have a symphony performed by an American orchestra.
We looked into music styles through 20th century and created a timeline of popular music in the early 20th century.

After, studying the lyrics for a Blues song, using garage band we composed our own rhythms for a Blues song. We created music inspired artwork based on an African American music genre using a range of materials showing how music evokes emotions and moods.
