After speaking with many parents over the past few weeks and listening to feedback at the parents’ coffee morning, we are pleased to share our latest update.
For our Spring term parents’ meetings, we will be trialling a new approach, which we believe will support families, their children and staff in making the process just as productive and informative, but also much more efficient and easier to access, to book and to attend.
The new parents’ meetings will follow a similar approach to other primary and secondary schools and will be run across two evenings (the first from 3:30 until 7:30 and the next 3:30 until 6:30).
The dates for the parents’ meetings are Tuesday 12th March and Thursday 14th March.
The meetings will still take place in the classrooms, and families will also have access to their child’s books to look at. We encourage you to bring your children with you, so they can share their progress and learning with you and their class teachers. Each family will have a 10 minute appointment with the child’s class teacher.
We believe this approach better supports the many working parents who struggle to attend normally, and for those with multiple children at the school who can book appointments on the same night and get it all done in one go.
Booking your appointment
We will be sending out booking information, via a link sent to your email addresses to download our new parent app, called My Child At School. You will be able to book your own appointment online.
The app will be used quite regularly moving forward and we hope it provides families with up-to-date information directly to their devices, rather than having to keep checking the class blogs.
My Child at School app – we will also be using the app in the future for the following:
- Online payments (we know many of you have been asking for this)
- Sending important information directly to parents, instead of you having to use the class blogs (blogs will still be used to celebrate children’s learning and pupil information/achievements)
- Booking and confirming trips
- Changing personal information (data collection)
- Checking your child’s attendance
We will send out more information before the end of this half term and open up the online booking after half term, in plenty of time before the parents’ meetings. Thanks again for your feedback and support.
