1 Blue’s Visit to St John’s House

Today, we were transported back in time to the Victorian era. We began with attending a Victorian Classroom, where we experienced doing all our work on a slate board and meeting a rather strict teacher. What did you learn? Was the teacher called Miss?

Next, we had a trip to the laundry room where we helped Charlotte with washing some clothes! What did you enjoy most?

After, we spent some time upstairs where we explored two Victorian homes and who lived in them. How did they have a bath?

In the afternoon, we had lunch and played the Victorian games ‘grandma’s footsteps’ and ‘pass the slipper’ before heading back home. What a fun filled day we had!

Then we get some water you had to use your muscles to pump some water in the bucket Adam said he was very good at this. The victorian used dolly stick to wash there clothes and I really enjoyed washing the clothes using the dolly stick and worked together with Dyari. The victorian used mangle to fold there clothes. The Miss was called Ma’am. They had bath by the servants going to get them some water in the bucket and they sat in a chair and had bath they don’t have bath like us. To have a bath, the servants for the victorians bring them water in buckets which they pour over themselves whilst sitting in a chair.

I would not like to be in Victorian times. The teacher was so strict and the classroom was dark. I did like being a butler and cleaning.
